About
Hi, I’m Omar, and I believe that each of us can be a force of good in this world if we choose to lean into our calling and stay true to it.
Mine is writing, and so, I write.
I write to explore how we can live better, more fulfilled, and joyful lives. I write to make sense of this beautiful thing called life. I write to inspire. To be in awe—and to stay in awe—of the everyday poetry of life. But above all, I write because the very act of writing makes me feel so damn alive.
I write for anyone who’s seeking a change in their own story. For anyone who’s seeking to revel in the rays of courage within them and rise above their fears to finally start doing the very thing that will move the rivers of their soul.
I write for the lifelong learner that is you, who is eager to explore the wisdom of philosophy, the depths of psychology, and the boundless ocean of potential within you.
And my mission is simple: I want to explore the joy of living a slow, meaningful, and creative life because I believe that’s the secret to a lifetime of happiness.
My work has been featured in Thrive Global, Thought Catalogue and major Medium publications, including Mind Café, Entrepreneur’s Handbook, and P.S. I Love You. I publish essays on this site, and every other Sunday, I send out the bi-weekly newsletter The Optimist. You can subscribe below.
Why do I do this? Because words are powerful. They move people into action. They give birth to new ideas. They challenge you to think and question. And they inspire you to look inward. To spark your light and create positive change for yourself.
I’m an optimist, a wandering storyteller, a life enthusiast, and an ocean advocate. I’ve lived in six countries, travelled to over 40, and I’m a certified diver—yes, I really do love all things related to the sea.
Truth is, I’ve had some incredible experiences thus far with my time on earth, and it’s become clear that my wish is to give something beautiful to this world, something that moves the soul. Until I do so, I’ll keep writing…
My background is in marketing, and I hold a Master’s of Science in International Business from Ivey Business School & CEMS Global Alliance. Professionally, I’ve worked at Google and Meta and also experienced an incredible—albeit difficult—two years as an entrepreneur building my e-commerce brand (more on this here). If you’re interested in learning more about me—well, hey, I’m flattered—here’s my story.
